About Daniel Ruby, Research Director, Chitika

Hi, I’m Daniel Ruby.  As research director at online ad network Chitika, my time is mostly spent looking through data from over 80,000 websites and 2 billion monthly impressions, trying to determine where the Internet is going today.  My research has been featured in TechCrunch, Mashable, ReadWriteWeb, and a plethora of other sites.  My expertise has been sought by CNN Money, E-Commerce Times, AdWeek, and more.

My background is extremely varied, but always skewed towards technology.  My undergraduate degree is in journalism, received from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and I have an MBA from Brandeis University.  During my career, I’ve spent time as a Geek Squad agent, an IT manager, a marketing director, and even an English teacher in Tokyo.  Now with Chitika, I’m constantly amazed at how well the numbers of the web speak when allowed to.
